Zombie Halloween Make-up Tips

-TIPS ON HOW TO RECREATE THIS LOOK-

  1. When applying the base make-up, don't make it too white because it will make the look quite flat and more ghostlike. You will want to mix a slight bit of green, grey and yellow to your pale white base to create a skin discolouration effect and makes the zombie appearance more realistic. This is because it creates the illusion of a decayed skin that been eating away at itself.
  2. Make the eyes and lips very dark using a black colour. This can either be a shadow or cream base. The eyes and lips have the thinnest amount of skin and these are the places that will decay fastest and go black.
  3. You will want to give the skin some texture to it to show the different layers and which are more decayed then others. It will create a peeling look and show all the dead skin decaying. To do this, buy a latest glue and with a brush apply small amounts of the face. Let it dry and then with a pair of tweezers, just gently pull the glue to create dead skin on the face.
  4. To create scars and wounds, do the same as above with the latex glue, but in a much larger quantity. Wait till its dry and then pull the glue with your tweezers, making a hole in the centre. Then fill this with a red cream to give the effect of blood, but a dark red. A bright red would make the wound look fresh and with zombies that are dead, that isn't the case. Also add a bit of black shadow around the wound to create the look of decayed, dead skin.
  5. Also remember to contour your eyes with a black shadow to make them hollow and sunken, also contour the cheeks to give the same effect and the neck to again reinforce the decaying process and make your zombie look more real.
I hope you have enjoyed these tips and have fun recreating this look.

Sanctuary Best Products

Finding the best Spa like products for an affordable price can be at times, difficult and everyone wants to feel pampered after a long day but without paying for the Spa treatment that can be quite expensive.
Sanctuary, I believe do the best Spa like products, not forgetting that their are a few products that I wouldn't always buy again. But a lot of their products I would buy again, because they feel very luxurious on the skin and the packaging makes then look very expensive when displayed in your bathroom. It never feels cheap in both the content and the packaging. They have really hit the nail on the head.

This is just a collection of my few favourites from Sanctuary and as you can tell my the picture, the packaging is just impeccable. Very luxurious and classically done to give it that expensive feel about it. And I also love how the colours chosen give a very Spa feel as the deep purples and blues I find are quite relaxing and peaceful. Their is no plain white that looks boring, its all very eye catching and appealing to look at.

I love these two products as the Cocooning Body Butter feels very silky and soft on the skin. Its very hydrating, yet you never feel it on the skin, or get that clogging feel to your pores as it is very fast absorbing and light. And the Tight & Tone body Serum has a lovely refreshing, citrus smell to it. It is very light on the skin and I am very pleased with the pump so I can get the amount needed without any mess or fuss. These two products both work well together in smell and in appearance.

I have also been a fond admirer of Sancutary's skincare range as it again feels very luxurious if you want an extra pamper or give you skin the 'special treatment'. I love these two facial lotions, one for the day and one for the night. As they never clog my pores or make me breakout. Their a very intense and deeply hydrate the skin making it feel very smooth, matte and silky. I also love the packaging detail on the night cream as it looks very expensive and has a very luxurious feel to it.

I hope you have enjoyed this post on Sanctuary Products and how to find alternative to get the Spa like feel on a daily basis.

Wrapping up for Autumn

-Outfit Of The Day's-

It has certainly been getting colder over the past few days in Britain, which is great! I can now finally start wearing my favourite scarf and coat, which has been sitting in my wardrobe since September, because it was surprisingly warm this September.

In these two looks, I have gone very smart/casual with wearing my hair in either a high messy ponytail to give the look a laid-back feel to it, or in messy waves with a middle parting to again create a relaxed look that isn't too overdone. The same with my make-up, I have gone with an everyday brown smokey/sultry eye and the classic nude lip to create a natural look with my make-up that won't need much redoing throughout the day.

In outfit 1, I am wearing my French Connection black waxed jeans to give that leather appearance to the look, but these are so much more comfortable than leather pants and are very flattering on. I have paired this with a white French Connection knitted jumper to contrast with the jeans and add a bit of warmth to my look. This jumper really brings the colour in my dark red tartan Barbour scarf which looks very autumnal and very fitting for the weather. Plaid and tartan patterns are still very fashionable this season, but if your afraid to wear these patterns in high doses, than wearing something like the scarf will just really bring a look together and give it a bit of contrast. I am wearing on my feet French Connection heeled ankle boots, (a bit obsessed with French Connection), to give me some height and some extra colour to the look so it doesn't look too dull and finally my coat is Michael Kors which is very comfortable and warm.

In outfit 2 I've gone with a deep royal blue jumper from Reiss to contrast the traditional autumnal colours. Deep blues are on trend this seasons and wearing it like I have done just gets the balance right with the overall look and makes the blue really stand out in the jumper. I paired this with black biker jeans from warehouse to give a bit of edge to the look with the zipped detailing. The boots also bring out the biker theme as they are ribbed at the front with 3 buckles going up the shoe. These were purchased from Kurt Geiger and I have worn them too death.

These 2 outfits are very fashionable and extremely comfortable for this season. I know I will get a lot of wear out of these as I just love the way they look.
I hope you have enjoyed this blog and send me your outfit of the days as I love seeing what people are wearing for this seasons.

Autumn Drugstore Haul

-Now that it is officially AUTUMN!! I made a little shopping trip for some new autumn make-up goodies. And to purchase a few new products to try over the next coming autumn months, paying particular attention to drugstore brands that i'll be reviewing over the next few weeks. For me, autumn make-up is all about strong brows, dark sultry eyes and the bold lip. But this year, i've decided to change up my style and really go for the matte make-up look this year as its something i've never really tried. I'm normally and shimmery eye and lip-gloss type of girl.

  • Revlon Coloburst Matte Balm Stain in Complex & Elusive
  • Rimmel Brow Gel in Clear
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in Permanent Taupe
  • Maybelline Eyebrow Satin 1 in Dark Blonde
  • Maybelline Master Brow in Dark Blonde
  • Revlon Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Red Zin (610) and Midnight in NY (670)

Deep reds and sparkling blacks are always on trend for the Autumn/Winter months and you can't go wrong with Sally Hansen's Salon Manicure nail polishes. These are excellent quality for money and have great pigmentation, so you don't need to layer in coats to achieve the colour in the bottle. I also love to add a coat of the Revlon's quick dry top coat which gives a real shine to the polish. I always get great compliments when wearing this top coat and is often compared with shellac.

Matte lips will look great this Autumn to give a pop of colour to your lips and give that velvet, smooth appearance. Revlon are incredible for their matte balms and I honestly can't count how many of these I have in my make-up bag because I absolutely love them. Complex and Elusive are perfect to give you that nude matte lip colour for everyday in the Autumn.

I am a huge fan of eyebrow products and there is nothing I like more than a strong brow during the autumn months. These products are new too me and I am very excited to try them out. I have been a huge fan of the Maybelline Brow Gel, so I am interested to see how Rimmel compares. I have chosen a clear brow gel from the Rimmel's collection to give a more natural look. It will also be the first time i've used a brow pencil to define my brows because I very often use an eyeshadow to do that. I feel eye shadow gives a more natural look, but I am hoping to be proven wrong by Maybellines Brow Pencils.

The Maybelline Color Tattoos are by far my favourite drugstore eyes shadows. They really do last throughout the day and have such bold pigmentation. They are just so beautiful on the eyes and suit all eye colours as they have a wide spectrum of colours to choose from. Permanent Taupe is a really nice matte shade and I believe its the only matte in their collections, so this shade will be perfect for autumn to give you a nice sultry matte eye look.

Hope you've enjoyed.
