Autumn Outfit Of The Day

-Autumn 2014 Fashion Trends-

I love Autumn fashion, the dark greens and burgundies; the leathers and the furs. But this season, merino wool is taking a stand on the fashion runway for this Autumn/Winter. Merino wool is something I've not been that familiar with, but after discovering it, can understand what the whole fuss is about. Its a very delicate, fine knit wool, that is very soft and light to wear. This sort of fabric is perfect for the autumn as the weather is still too warm for a thicker knitted jumper, but cool enough to wrap up on those chiller days. The fabric isn't itchy on the skin and when on, you can really feel the high quality of the wool, making it feel very expensive.

Now thats most probably what you are thinking, but…you are wrong! The jumper I am wearing in these photos are made by the designer called Paul Costelloe, who is an Irish designer and one I would recommend as his clothing is so simply, yet very elegant. This jumper is made from 100% Merino Wool and cost £24.99. I did buy this from T.K Maxx, which is a discounted store on designer clothing, hence the price. But this is an absolute gem to find as it is a timeless, elegant piece for your wardrobe.

Soap & Glory, Burt's Bees And Garnier

-Sugar Scrubs-

Body scrubs have become my new obsession for body care and have been added to my collection of must have body products. I was never really a body scrub type person and never really understood why you needed to use them. I would also reach for a body wash and lotion and sort myself as done in terms of cleanliness.

But what makes a body scrub so good? And why should you start to use one?

Well…most importantly and obviously, they remove dry skin cells making your skin feel luxuriously soft and smooth. They make your skin smell delightful and are equally as moisturising to the skin as a mosturising body wash is.

The best body scrubs i've been using and loving, are the Garnier Body Tonic, Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub and the Burt's Bees Sugar Scrub. Now, you may be thinking why have I got three body scrubs when their is only one of me. I like to change it up every now and then, and each of these products are different in a positive way.

The Soap & Glory body scrub is very moisturising on the skin and isn't too harsh in terms of exfoliating. None of those scratchy, hard beads. Just a very luxuriously smooth product. This product also wins it in terms of smell, I mean who would't want to smell candy?! This is a really good product for removing dry skin and making your skin feel silky smooth. An added bonus is the size, you get a lot of product for your money and you only need a small amount to get the result you want. Therefore, this product is an all rounder and one I highly recommend.

The Burt's Bees sugar scrubs is a little bit more pricey, but you are paying for a 100% natural product that smells of honey and delightfulness. This products is what it says on the label, full of sugar and this use of sugar really helps to smoothen the skin as it is finer, allowing more skin to be exfoliated. So your skin feels really soft, removing all the dry dead skin cells. You don't get a big quantity compared to the Soap & Glory, yet with the finer exfoliators, it means that less is definitely more.

The last body scrub I would like to mention is the Garnier Body Tonic. This product is different to the other two as the sugar particles are bigger and its more of a fruity fresh and vitalising scent that really awakens the skin, great as part of a morning routine. This product would be great to use for early mornings and everyday routines as it isn't thick or heavy and is quite quick to use on the body without any mess or needing to really scrub. Its also good in the fact that it acts as a body wash and sugar scrub in one, so this product really cuts down time if you are like me and are always running late in the mornings.

I hope you enjoyed a small insight into body scrubs and what key features to look for in a good sugar scrub.
I hope you have a lovely evening.

Autumn Fashion Trend 2014

Now that the season is changing and its getting closer for those winter knits to come out of the closet, I thought i'd show an Autumn look that is perfect for the weather and is a statement in the fashion department. This look can both be worn dressed up or down and the colours ooze everything about autumn, with warm reds and crisp browns. You'll be feeling comfortable and cozy in this outfit, and its very simple to piece together.

After searching through many Autumn/Winter 2014 Fashion magazines, it was noticeable that checks and leather pieces are still going strong. Making their way on the catwalks, they have become a timeless piece to our wardrobes and a definite must have. In my photos I have paired these two pieces together, as they compliment each other and also to show just how simple it is to mix fabrics and prints. To create this look, I am wearing;

  • French Connection Black Faux Leather Skirt.
  • Karen Millen Burgundy Jumper
  • Black Tights From Primark
  • Loafer shoes From Dune
  • Barbour Checked Scarf

I love this look as it is timeless, comfortable and right on point for the Autumn/Winter Fashion trends. Its a look that will go well on any body shape and would suit any skin tone. The quality in these items are exceptional and I love the arm detail on the Karen Millen jumper. It gives the look a bit of edge to it, which compliments the leather skirt without making it feel too girly. This look can be worn everyday as it is comfortable, not too dressy for everyday occasions and warm for the seasons, but can also be worn dressed up with a pair of black ankle boots and statement neckless to make the look feel sophisticated and elegant.

I hope you enjoy this look and I will be doing more Autumn/Winter Fashion looks that are on trend for this season and also looks that are value for money.
I hope you have a lovely evening.

Drugstore Autumn Nails

Drugstore nail polishes are very often excellent quality and price compared to the higher end market and I find when it becomes Autumn, I change nail polish like I change clothes. I need nail polish that is good quality, with a nice glossy sheen to the finish, but for an affordable price so I don't feel like I am spending that heart stopping amount for a nail polish that I'll wear for 3 days.

I like nail polishes that have that expensive look to them, when really, they cost me £5. But with that gel, glossy finish and for autumn, I particularly love deep reds and plums as they look perfect on any skin colour and are very autumnal colours.

On these two photos I wearing OPI I Brake For Manicures, which is a gorgeous dark plum/burgundy. I love the finish on the OPI nail polishes and can be bought in a lot of Poundland stores stock OPI. They do tend to be their old stock, but they are bargain for £1 so keep your eyes peeled in your local Poundland/Poundworld.

I also love the Revlon, Rimmel and Collection nail polishes as I find they are great value for money costing for £2.99 and onwards. They have a lovely finish to them and a very easy to apply with wider applicators, so in one sweep and your done. The pigmentation is exceptional on these brands, you never have to layer up on coats to get the full colour, which we all know, can take a while to dry.

  • Revlon - 795 Devilish
  • Rimmel - 359 Little Brown Dress
  • Collection - Vixen Red 3
These are all colours and brands I would recommend for this Autumn that would look perfect for the upcoming season and are incredible value for money. Also look in shops like Poundland and Poundworld because you'd be surprised at what bargains lurk in their stores.
I hope you have enjoyed this post and have a lovely evening.

Autumn/Winter Lipsticks

Autumn is fast approaching and personally, its my favourite time of the year. There is nothing I love more than wooly knit jumpers, tartan scarfs and chunky ankle boots. But I also love autumnal colours and experimenting these colours in make-up. Its a season were bold deep red lips for an everyday look is perfectly ok or wearing the dark sultry smokey eye to lunch, is also ok. Here are a few of my favourite browns and deep red lipsticks that will certainly be getting a lot of use over the next few months.

These colours ooze everything about Autumn, with dark plums and red, too nude browns. I always reach for one of these lipsticks in my make-up bag because I love the pigmentation and how smooth they are on the lips. They keep my lips soft and moisturised, which will be very important during the colder months.

Starting from the left:
  1. Clinique: Red Red Red ( From the Long Last Lipstick Collection)
  2. Nina Ricci 14 Mat ( From the Rouge -A- Porter Collection)
  3. Revlon Colour Burst ( Shade 135)
  4. Maybelline ( Shade 728 Honey Beige)
  5. Maybelline ( 757 Naked Brown)

Here I have swatched the colours for you:

  1. Clinique Red Red Red - This is a high pigmented colour that is long lasting and full of moisture. This lipstick really creates the perfect bold red lip colour for the autumn season.
  2. Nina Ricci 14 Mat - It is a matte lipstick but its a gorgeous plum, burgundy red which is very quintessential for autumn. Its not drying to the lips and is perfect for brown eyes.
  3. Revlon Colour Burst (135) - Is a glossy red that great for giving your lips colour but also acts as a lip balm to keep your lips hydrated which I love as I have two products in one.
  4. Maybelline ( Honey Beige) - A very nice nude beige, slightly matte but not as matte as the Nina Ricci. Perfect with a dark smokey eye or to be used for an everyday look if you don't want a bold lip.
  5. Maybelline ( Naked Brown) - also slightly matte but it is a gorgeous plum/brown colour that is also great for brown eyes. Its a good alternative to a bold red lipstick if you wish to wear something slightly bold but not as red. This lipstick also builds up in colour so you can have as just a slight wash of colour, or really impact it for a bold plum lip.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post. I will also being doing some Autmn/Winter look books and Halloween make-up tutorials.I Hope you have a lovely and peaceful Sunday.

Soap & Glory Review

-Soap & Glory-

So I have been a big fan of the Soap & Glory range and although I may use other products every now and then, Soap & Glory is a brand I continually keep going back too. The smells and textures are just simply divine and luxurious and I absolutely love the brands packaging, as its funky and extremely eye catching. They look pleasant and appealing in the bathroom and the hand pump makes it very easy to get the amount you need onto your hand without making the packaging messy or gunky. Here's a little review on 3 products that are my favourite in their collection.

-Hand Maid Hand Cleaning Gel-

I have been using Hand Maid for at least a year now and its a hand gel that does everything in one bottle. It cleans your hands for bacteria but its that something extra special to an ordinary hand sanitizer. The reason why I love it so much is it smells incredible but without being to overpowering. So the minute you put it on, you feel clean and fresh.  The gel itself isn't sticky when rubbed into your hands and dries very quickly so your not waiting for the product to be absorbed into your skin. I also love how moisturising it is and makes your hands feel soft and smooth, like you've just used a hand cream. The only issue I have is it would be nice if the bottle size was a little bit bigger, or that you could buy a slightly bigger version because I use public transport a lot, I find I can go through a bottle in a months time, so it never really lasts me a great deal.

-Smoothie Star Body Milk-

This product I could actually eat, if it was food. The smell is incredibly sweet with a bit a spice too it. So if your not into sweet smells, I wouldn't say this is the best product for you. However, I love this products because it deeply moisturises the skin without being to thick or heavy on the skin. So body creams you can really feel on skin and can take some time to be fully absorbed. Yet, its slightly thicker then a lotion so it leaves the skin hydrated, smooth and soft. The product isn't greasy or sticky when applied to the skin so you don't have your clothes sticking to your skin. The only downfall with this product is the smell doesn't last that long on the skin. You'll find throughout the day, once its been absorbed, the smell dilutes and really can't smell the oats or honey. Apart from that thought, I love this products and for the amount you get in a bottle, I think its a bargain.

-Sugar Crush Body Wash-

This is pretty much the only body wash I use because it smells so fruity and fresh. Its cleansing and softening and leaves the skin feeling hydrated and not dry. The bubbles this body wash makes is insane and is great to add into the bath to give you an extra bubbly bath. The wash itself really lasts on the skin and leaves it feeling fresh and awake. I like how the product really lasts because its so foamy, a small pea drop really lasts so I know i'm getting value for money. The scent is fruity, tangy and sweet which helps you to start the day and relax you in the evening. There is not a bad word I can say about this products as it does everything and more that a body wash should do and I really recommend it to you.

Warwick Castle

So I know its been a while since I last did a blog post but I have been extremely busy the last week and haven't really found a chance to blog. But I thought I'd share with you some of the things I've been doing. On Friday, me , my family and a few friends took a road trip down to Warwickshire which is such an iddlic countryside with spectacular views. Its very surreal when your around such a beautiful place. We visited the popular Warwick Castle which is simply amazing and full of entertainment. Its beautifully preserved and your abled to view every nick and cranny of the place which will overwhelm you. It was actually the second time I had viewed the Castle and it still takes my breath away every time I go. Its really treat for the family and makes learning history fun with archery entertainment, to birds of prey, to jousting. You will never be bored and I would really recommend it for a family day out because their is so much to explore, the fun is endless. Here are a few photos I took of my journey to Warwickshire. I Hope you enjoy x
