The beauty look that has us women obsessing over!

Eyebrows? This beauty obsession has shortly become the new LBD (Little Black Dress) of the beauty industry and has us women going crazy for those luscious locks.  Eyebrows were always that boring, treacherous maintenance task that like most women hated to endure and is extremely painful. Eyebrow plucking was a way for us women to frame our face “better”, I say “better” because some women just got way to carried away with the tweezers, or we wanted take 10 years off our face and make us look younger and youthful. Now women don’t want that typical 90’s style of the plucking/waxing obsession, and virtually no hair at all trend. All women want now is the Audrey Hepburn eyebrows, very harsh, bold and mostly drawn in, or the Brooke Shield’s straight full eyebrows, very typical of the 80’s era, now seen today on the Mulberry model, Cara Delevingne. Women seem to want the natural, rather bushy eyebrows, which I’m all for seen, as plucking is way too painful for me. But what if we simply can’t grow these natural, luscious eyebrows back, due to the dreaded over-plucking that we soon come to regret. That’s were this beauty trick seems to have us women obsessing to obtain the full eyebrows as it is so simple as just filling the sparse eyebrows in. Now I say sparse and that word needs to be treated with the upmost care as no woman wants to turn their eyebrows into, lets say, caterpillars across your forehead.

Why has filling your eyebrows become so popular?

  • ·      It’s great to hide the regret of over-plucking.
  • ·      It gives you a more defined eyebrow that enhances the frame of your face.
  • ·      We use our eyebrows a lot to convey emotions and our expressions.
  • ·      Helps get rid of too sparse eyebrows, too thin, or over tweezed.
  • ·      And eyebrows are what we first notice when we meet someone as we pay attention towards their expressions.

The Do’s and Don’ts of filling in your eyebrows:

  • ·      Find the right colour to use on your eyebrows. Making sure you pay attention towards its undertones, not just how light or dark it is.
  • ·      Don’t strive for a solid block colour all the way through your eyebrow; they don’t need to be uniform in colour. Focus on filling in the sparse areas; this will create a more natural look.
  • ·      Do concentrate on the arch of the eyebrows and it is fine to build up on intensity in this area as it will create a natural look and also frame the face more.
  • ·      Don’t be afraid to use two shades of colours. Everyone’s hair is multi-tonal, this will make them look more natural and less drawn on or fake.
  • ·      Do use a spoolie brush to start and finish the eyebrows. This brush will blur harsh markings and sets the shape of the brow.
  • ·      Don’t forget to use a brow gel once finished too keep the brows set and in place the rest of the day.

I hope this will help you to creating the perfect defined, but don’t forget, caterpillars are a massive DON’T!
